1. For more information on the special photograph of Our Lady of Guadalupe
taken at the National Shrine of Our Sorrowful Mother in Portland, Oregon,
on August 15, 1991, please visit our website: www.marys-touch.com.
There are several articles on this subject.
2.The images in this photograph look best under the natural light
(i.e., the sunlight, even on cloudy days). Their beauty does not seem
fully revealed under electric lights.
3. Keep and handle this photograph with a profound respect and love worthy
of God and Our Heavenly Mother. The materials used in printing this
photograph (paper, ink, etc.) were human-made, but the images in it have
not been added by humans on earth.
The original Image of Our Lady of Guadalupe received in
1531 has been confirmed to be supernatural and miraculous, given to us by
God Himself through the Blessed Mother. No human intention or touch
operated in the production of the original Guadalupe Image. Likewise,
there was absolutely no human intention, operation, or expectation in the
appearance of the additional images in the photograph taken on August 15,
1991. Please read our explanation in our website about this photograph
taken in Portland, Oregon, 21 years ago. We hope and expect that the
additional images in the photograph will also some day be officially
approved by the Church authorities. Until then, we can make our private
discernment based on the testimonies by witnesses and also examining the
photograph ourselves. So far several priests and many lay faithful have
expressed their belief in the supernatural origin of the additional images
seen in the photograph. The images given by God Himself through the
Blessed Mother cannot be the same as the images drawn with human hands. By
approaching and keeping this photograph with awe, faith, love, humility,
and gratitude, our souls can grow faster spiritually and receive more
graces. As already mentioned in another article, there have been some
cases of this photograph repelling evil spirits and protecting us from
accidents. Some also smelled fragrance from the photograph. With a truly
childlike faith and genuine love, we can receive many graces.
4. At the time of the first Image of Our Lady of Guadalupe
in the 16th Century, a large part of Europe split away from the Roman
Catholic Church through the so-called Protestant Reformation. Our Lady
compensated for this loss by converting millions of the people in Latin
America to the Catholic Faith through her Guadalupe Image. We can only
infer that this photograph taken by a lowly and unworthy layman will
nevertheless be an important factor in helping many in the world and
bringing about the Triumph of Our Lady over the devil
5. We believe that the purposes of God in revealing the additional
images in this photograph are: (1) because there are images of little
babies, even inside the head of Our Lady kneeling, and she is praying and
shedding tears, these images may be predicting the end of abortions and
also are urging us to pray more fervently for it; (2) because the Blessed
Mother is holding the Holy Eucharist with her fingers, this may be
announcing a new world of true devotion to the Real Presence of Our Lord
in the Eucharist; (3) because there is the image of the Holy Spirit above
the Blessed MotherÕs right shoulder looking at her and at us, this may
signal the Second Pentecost in which the Holy Spirit will burn all evils
and errors in this world and sanctify those who remain faithful to the
end; (4) because there is an image of the Immaculate Heart of Mary under
her left arm, we are reminded of her ardent call to all of us to enter her
Heart, which is the only safe Refuge in this extremely dangerous time; (5)
because there is the image of the Crucifix on the top of a steep mountain
similar to the scene of the Third Secret seen by Sister Lucia of Fatima,
we may actually be in the Third Secret; and (6) because the Blessed
MotherÕs dark hair is fully exposed, she seems to be ready to receive the
Glorious Crown from the Holy Trinity as the Mother of God the Son and the
Victorious Queen of the World.
